May 10-15 Weekly Update

I’d like to wish all of our mothers, grandmothers and guardians who serve as a mother Happy Mother’s Day. You all are truly appreciated.

With less than 10 instructional days remaining before end of year assessments begin, academic and student behavior expectations will be heightened. Please have conversations with your child about the importance of making excellent choices while at school and to submit all completed assignments to their teachers.

Join us at Jackson Middle School on Thursday, May 14 for our Zone 3 family engagement event. The event begins at 5:00 and will include information sessions, community resources, performances, and free dinner to all attendees. This invitation has been extended to students, families, teachers, and community members.

Plan to attend the spring dance concert on Tuesday, May 19 at 6:30pm. Come out and see what our dance students have been learning this semester and enjoy a great show. The concert will be held in the auditorium.

As we continue to make preparations for end of grade assessments, parents are encouraged to begin checking your child’s exam schedule. Teachers will have the testing schedule posted on their Canvas pages and it will be posted on the BLS Facebook page. During testing, students must arrive by 9:45, turn in all electronics, and only report to school on the days they are testing.

Learning Hub and Saturday School provide free academic support for all BLS students. LH is after school from 4:30-6:00pm on Monday and Tuesday and Saturday School is from 9:00-12:00pm. Ask your teachers how to register as soon as possible.
